Why-Wear is a new clothing brand founded by Shay Wiggins. With the help of longtime friend, Kyle Mossier, Why-Wear represents itself with the popular slogan of "Why be normal?".

This clothing brand was created through a ministry set to reach to the car show demographic. In an interview with Shay and Kyle, they expressed the foundings of car shows were at one time considered a fun event for the family. Family interaction was a core value involved with car shows.

Now, the car show industry has become, much like many worldly events, less modest for the family and gearing more toward the adult entertainment industry.

In response, WHY-WEAR aim's to rebuke the social norm, to be set apart from the rest, and their aim is also do it... with flare.

WHY-WEAR has become an official sponsor of Death2Self Records and thus is the OFFICIAL clothing brand for Death2Self artists.

D2S FEST 2010? First Details Here...

The last three years, we had constructed a good model with D2S Fest. This event showcased all our artists as well as artists we fellowship with. One event a year, 6 hours of good music and ministry.... it's a great event.

2010 however, may not see a D2S Fest... at least, not in the way you may be expecting.

Due to several factors, we're debating on whether to keep the same model of having D2S FEST an all-day event as we have been doing, or something more creative... such as in the way of a week-long tour.

By doing a week-long tour, we're hoping to perform at several more venues on different days throughout one specific week in the summer. This would require us to be a smaller group and less hours in the event. So while we've been used to about 10 performances clocking in at 6 hours, this method will require us to have about 5 or less performances in only a couple hours.

There's always a list of Pros and Cons with things of this nature, so we'd like to hear what you have to say about it. D2S FEST '09 Videos...

Took long enough ay??? Haha well thanks for the patience fam! Starting this week, you're gonna want to check out YOUTUBE for updates on the D2S FEST '09 Videos. We're uploading two or three at a time per day, and we have about 12 videos to post, so each day, keep coming back, and witness another fragment of this awesome event!

We already uploaded two videos as of yesterday, without telling no one (little sneaks, I know), so today I'm working on getting the next two or three up, and here below is what you can look forward to:

D2S FEST at a Cafe!

No, we're not hosting next year's D2S FEST at a Cafe, but our cards have been displayed in one! About three hours away from where the event is located, in a small town called Henderson, there is a place called The Gallery Cafe. This cafe is owned by my very own sister-in-law Courtny Peterson and her fiance, Dustin. They have a nice set-up here, run by other family members such as my mother-in-law and other sister-in-law Tiffany, plus help from the rest of the fam.

We took a surprise trip down there last week to see how they were doing on their fifth day in business, and to my surprise, they had this located at every table in the cafe:

D2S FEST '09 cards to decorate every desk at the cafe, and no I didn't request them to be there. It's cool to see how much support we're getting for this not only from my family, but other churches and friends we've been contacting in this whole process. The fam said people have been taking these cards, interested in the event.

With that all said, I enjoyed a good potato soup and "South of the Border" entree at their lovely cafe. This is SA's official endorsement to go check this place out and tell them I sent you!

Oh and finally, I had to take a snapshot of me with the fam and wonderful staff!

From top to bottom, left to right we have: Sara, Courtny (sister-in-law), Dustin, Cristi (mother-in-law), Brittny (wife), Mom, Julie (sister), Jaane (grandmother-in-law), Dad, Tiffany (sister-in-law) and myself. Top notch place you got fam! Keep it up!

The Official D2S DANCE Team!

You know we mean business when we build an official dance team for our label's special annual event...

With D2S FEST '09 only a few days away, I wanted to show you a little of what to expect... the flyer said there would be a special dance performance, and while there are a few details we're in the process of ironing out, I thought I'd show you the official uniform... or at least, the shirt.

This shirt goes along with a pair of blue jeans and choice in red, black, or white hat / sneakers. This dance group was about four girls and a guy, but due to certain situations going on, the team's being represented by two girls this year... one of which is my own sister from birth, Julie Torres!

The dance team's not broken though, I'd like to see them develop into something bigger for future shows where D2S artists may perform... who knows, this could be the start to something beautiful!

Yungtown - Internal Lullaby
For anyone who thought Yung and I had bad feelings towards each other after the split, ERR! ERR! Nah, fam the former longtime artist Yungtown contributed one final mixtape to the label, the much talked about Internal Lullaby. Also, we've replaced Yung's former mixtapes with the Classics mixtape. If you want his previous mixtapes you're gonna have to do some digging.

SA - The Alibi
Known for his emotion and love for New York... oh, wait that's me! I may have gotten ragged at for not having the best production on the mix, but the fact is, the lyrics and overall composition is definitely something to enjoy! It's certainly a small taste of what my upcoming album is going to be. You'll def enjoy this!

PS - There's an "Alibi II" mixtape coming up...this Fall to be exact.

Fresh Mann - I'm Fresh - The Interlude
Fresh Mann reppin' the West comes through with a banging top notch mixtape all for free! His mix has several remixes of some very well known and enjoyable tracks plus some killer collabs and original content. Definitely worth peeping and repeeping over and over again!

PS - This mixtape is called "The Interlude" because it's connecting the "I'm Fresh - Part A" album to the upcoming "I'm Fresh - Part B" album due to release later this year!

Hey..wow this all happened in one month. NICE! Don't say we're not doing anything!

So "The Lost Episode", episode #5 has been out for a while now, and as was announced, episode 6 won't premiere until after D2S FEST '09. In case it hasn't been stated yet, please check out ep 5 at http://sahiphop.libsyn.com now for the latest.

Ep 6 will feature exclusive behind-the-scenes interviews with the artists performing at D2S FEST this year, so you don't want to miss out!
